Robyn E. Sinclair started her career as a trainer in the telecoms sphere after completing her Psychology degree and Criminology (Hons) at the University of Pretoria in 1989. Her passion for people development took her on a journey where she managed IT, Sales and Training individuals before embarking for the UK where she worked as a management consultant in the call centre industry. Subsequently she was introduced to the exciting concepts of Neuro – Linguistic Programming (NLP), Hypnotherapy and Mind Coaching and worked alongside Executive Coaches to assist with challenging clients – clients who were unable to move forward as they were stuck in the past; clients who focused on their weaknesses instead of strengths; clients who operated their lives through limiting beliefs instead of empowering beliefs; clients with self-sabotaging behaviours who were unable to live their potential to the fullest; clients with negative identities and low self-esteem. In 2008, shortly after her return to South Africa, she founded Sinclair & Associates Recruitment, Training and Development (Coaching), a company where like minded professionals could collaborate and offer individuals and organisations a leadership development solution.
Today within Change Partners, Robyn specialises in career coaching - assisting individuals in finding the next step in their professional careers: whether it is moving up the ladder of success or finding the strength, motivation and confidence to start or grow their own companies.
People often ask, why do people choose coaching? Robyn believes individuals choose coaching from a position of strength. They are not broken, they do not need fixing. They merely want to take ownership of their career success and create the life they’re destined for. This often involves taking stock of who they are and who they want to be: acknowledging the past, accepting the now and being clear of what they want from the future.
Her approach is personal, open and transparent, designed to take a person’s whole life into account: who they are on a social, individual, intellectual, financial, health and spiritual level. Career coaching often involves exploring and challenging people’s values, beliefs, purpose, goals and vision. During a coaching session she will ask thought provoking questions and act as a sounding board......giving people time to reflect and ponder. All coaching sessions are outcome-driven and focused on achieving the desired result – tapping into the natural leader and entrepreneur within.
Robyn enjoys working with people who are ready and committed to make some changes in their lives. “If you do what you’ve always done, then you’ll get what you always got”. Change only happens once you’ve made a decision or reached that “A HA” moment. So in order for change to happen, we will start exploring new ideas, start trying on different thoughts, feelings and behaviours – start doing things differently with a new sense of purpose and direction whilst being true to who you are.
