Rob is a professional manager with 35 years of business
experience. For 14 years he was CEO of Schering South
Africa and for seven years was a non-executive director
of South Africa’s largest pharmaceutical distribution
company, during which time he was chairman of its board
committees for HR and remuneration.
Rob is a pharmacist with a Master’s in business
administration. His extensive management experience
includes the leadership of transformation and
right-sizing programmes, the development of long-term
brand-building strategies and the introduction and
implementation of innovative tools to support business
processes and executive decision-making.
He believes an effective leadership coach should be
“constructively curious, a good listener and comfortable
with complexity; using deductive reasoning, creative
thinking and commonsense to meet the challenges of
business.”
In 2008 Rob helped establish the Centre for Human
Development and is currently CEO (a part-time position).
CHD is a consultancy focused on leadership and corporate
renewal as well as executive placement.
Rob is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors in
Southern Africa and a Member of the Pharmaceutical
Society of South Africa.
Rob holds a B.Sc.(Pharm) from Rhodes University and an
MBA from Wits Business School and has completed the
post-graduate course in leadership and growth at
Cranfield University, UK. |
