Gerrie de Villiers

Gerrie is a lawyer and former MD of M-Net and SuperSport, and has served in executive and board positions at a number of large organisations
 

Gerrie is a former CEO and MD of M-Net and SuperSport, and has also served in executive and board positions at Naspers, AECI and Educor in a successful business career of 27 years. He is a founder director of the Aardklop National Arts Festival.

He has been an executive coach to clients in many blue-chip companies since 2001. He encourages clients to take a big-picture view and there is nothing circumscribed about his passion for coaching. He notes: “Coaching can help transform a good manager into a visionary leader. Leadership is key to the success of any business and to South Africa and Africa’s future.”

As an executive coach Gerrie’s mission is to “encourage, inspire and empower leaders … in their mess, and to their magnificence.” According to Gerrie coaching should “shock you out of your comfort zone or “stuck” places, stimulate your hidden potential, open your eyes to new possibilities, ignite your creativity and leverage your strengths towards greater achievement.”

Gerrie holds B.Com, LL.B and MBL (cum laude) degrees. He is a Certified Professional Co-active Coach of the Coaches Training Institute (USA) and a member of the International Coach Federation and MENSA. He completed the Stanford Senior Executive Programme and is a winner of the Naspers prize for Transformation. He is studying towards a post-graduate certificate in coaching through Middlesex University.
